Ioana’s Story
Meet Ioana, a dedicated and experienced Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) and UKBA (cert). With a foundational degree in Special Psychopedagogy and an MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis from Queen’s University Belfast, Ioana brings over ten years of expertise in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
Ioana’s passion lies in empowering individuals. She has extensive experience working with children aged 2.5 to 16, delivering tailored support in various environments including homes, schools, nurseries, and community settings. Her work focuses on teaching crucial skills such as academics, communication, emotional regulation, and self-help, fostering independence and well-being.
Beyond her direct work with children in typical community settings, Ioana plays a vital role in children’s homes and supported living settings for adults. Here, she conducts functional behavior assessments (FBAs), crafting individualized PBS plans, and providing comprehensive training to staff on behaviour intervention and proactive strategies. Her skills extend to teaching complex coping mechanisms, including desensitization techniques for needle phobia and fear of dogs. Ioana consistently works as an integral part of a wider multidisciplinary team, collaborating with Clinical Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Dietitians to deliver truly holistic and integrated care. To ensure her skills remain sharp and current, Ioana actively continues to provide one-to-one behavioral support for children, alongside her consulting work for children’s homes.
When she’s not immersed in her professional practice, Ioana embraces her inner child through rock climbing, photography, and painting.
